GlucIQ is a diabetes companion app that helps you photograph meals, estimate nutrition, track glucose patterns, and keep insulin context visible — all without providing dosing instructions.
Is GlucIQ a medical device?
No. GlucIQ is informational software. It does not diagnose, treat, or provide medical advice. All insulin dosing decisions remain with you and your clinician.
Does GlucIQ work for both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes?
Yes. Core features (meal scanning, glucose tracking, nutrition scoring) work for both types. Insulin math features are most relevant for insulin-dependent users.

Meal Scanning
How accurate is the meal scanner?
The scanner provides estimates within 15–25% of actual values for common meals, comparable to trained dietitian visual estimates. All values are editable.
Can GlucIQ scan packaged foods?
Yes. GlucIQ can analyze photos of packaged foods. For best results with packaged items, you can also manually enter values from the nutrition label.
Does GlucIQ work with restaurant meals?
Yes. Restaurant meals are supported, though accuracy may vary with unfamiliar or complex dishes. You can always adjust the estimates.
Data & Privacy
Where is my data stored?
Meal data and health information are stored locally on your device. Only anonymized, aggregated usage data is collected for app improvement.
Can I export my data?
Yes. GlucIQ supports data export in standard formats for sharing with your care team.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. Account deletion removes all server-side data. Local data is removed when you uninstall the app.
Technical
Do I need a CGM to use GlucIQ?
No. GlucIQ works without a CGM. You can manually enter glucose readings. However, CGM integration provides the richest glucose tracking experience.
Which devices are supported?
GlucIQ is available for iOS 16+ and Android 12+.
Does GlucIQ work offline?
Basic meal logging works offline. AI-powered features (meal scanning, pattern analysis) require an internet connection.
